African Missions

After reading an article calling for donations of school supplies for impoverished children in Kenya, Carter decided he wanted to help. We talked about ways he could earn money to buy school supplies for them. When he gets an allowance for doing his chores he puts half in the Kenya Envelope he made. I have been searching for videos, websites, and lesson plans to help teach my kids about the real poverty that occurs in these African countries. I found this video made by a little girl who went on a 10 day mission trip to Zambia with her mom. It was a great introduction to African missions and perfectly suited for children. We pray that one summer soon we will be able to go on a short-term mission like this to teach our kids about serving and loving the poor for God's glory.
